- A modern multi-core processor improves search, maps and local AI performance.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Choose a computer for the content.
The base system is relatively light, while large map packages, complete Wikipedia editions and local AI place higher demands on storage, memory and processor.
Memory
- Minimum
- 4 GB for basic use without local AI.
- Recommended
- 8 GB is recommended without local AI. For local AI, 16 GB or more is recommended depending on the model.
Larger local AI models may require 32 GB or more.
Storage
- Minimum
- 128 GB only for a minimal installation without Wikipedia and large map packages.
- Recommended
- 512 GB is recommended for normal use. Choose 1 TB for large collections.
256 GB is the practical minimum when using Wikipedia or other larger offline content.
Storage medium
- Minimum
- A USB flash drive works for testing and a reserve used less often.
- Recommended
- An external or internal SSD is recommended for regular use.
Mechanical hard drives provide high capacity but are more sensitive to shocks.
Network
- Minimum
- A network adapter is needed to share with other devices.
- Recommended
- Wi-Fi hardware with hotspot support is recommended for Prepperpoint’s own local network.
Hotspot support varies between computers and Wi-Fi adapters.
Use
- Minimum
- A monitor and keyboard are needed for installation and local administration.
- Recommended
- Phones, tablets and other computers can use the portal in an ordinary browser.
Connected devices do not need a special Prepperpoint app.
